The cheekpiece allows for multiple rein positions, if connected to the main ring it acts as a loose ring snaffle but when connected to the bottom ring it promotes poll flexion but creating more positive poll pressure.
The lifesaver applies more tongue pressure and is spread over a larger area than a dog bone. It also has faster release than jointed bits. It’s a good transition bit from a snaffle. It can also help slow down a quick moving horse and help them with lifting their shoulders.
